The Kitchen Garden is one of the four walled gardens. It has an area of about 1/4 acre and once contained several glasshouses. Only the largest greenhouse now remains - renovated in 2002, it is partly heated and is filled with pot plants and grapevines.
Half of this garden is planted as a collage of herbs, with a surrounding border of cut-flowers and unusual shrubs.
One section is freshly designed each year, the great success of 2008 was mixed poppies, cosmos and daturas. 2009 will see a new scheme...

...perhaps a different blend of poppies, maybe something quite different. The best way to find out is to come and visit us.
